After operating a successful IT services firm for two years, Jeff Elgie starts Lucidia Studios in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, branching out to offer well-designed websites to clients. Tony Bitonti starts as creative team member #1 and continues to lead the creative team today. Scott Elgie joins Lucidia to lead technical development and builds Lucidia's custom Content Management System, which has been successfully implemented across hundreds of client sites.
Lucidia's passion for Northern Ontario and tourism unfolds into the beginning of what will become a strong and long-lasting relationship with Tourism Sault Ste. Marie.
At the request of numerous clients, Lucidia expands its offering to include traditional marketing services including print collateral and OOH advertising design. Teresa Martone returns home to the Sault and joins Lucidia after gaining invaluable experience in account roles with Blast Radius in Vancouver and Toronto. Lucidia begins working with Fairmont Hotels, building a strong partnership that continue to this day.
Lucidia helps create the Rotaryfest Second Stage, a live music event promoting original musicians working in Sault Ste. Marie. Lucidia also wins its first two marketing awards (the first of many in the years to come).
JR Pierman joins Lucidia as a Partner and works on developing back-end business processes and strategic growth plans for the agency. Lucidia leads the rebrand of ASCU to Community First Credit Union.
Lucidia launches the original NorthernOntario.com campaign microsite for Tourism Sault Ste. Marie, later winning one of 30 "Best in Show" W3 awards from the International Academy of Visual Arts. Debbie Park joins the Lucidia team to support growing financial and HR needs, which she heads up today as VP Finance and Administration.
Lucidia builds the Canada's Great Outdoors website for the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation (OTMPC). Lucidia and Community First win their first of many Marketing Association of Credit Union awards.
Lucidia has gone from being the little web-shop that could to working with clients across North America, opening a US division, and meeting with clients everywhere from Bermuda to New York. The agency leads the Canada's Great Outdoors integrated advertising campaign for OTMPC in Chicago.
Lucidia and the Ben Farella Group team up as Farella Lucidia to redesign and develop the Nunavut Tourism website.
Lucidia opens its first Toronto office in the Dufferin Liberty Centre. Lucidia leads and executes the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines and Forestry's – Northern Ontario Energy Credit campaign across Northern Ontario, planning media and executing a major cross-channel integrated campaign.
Bryan Soroka joins the Lucidia team in Toronto as Creative Director bringing with him a wide range of copywriting and creative strategy experience from numerous agencies.
Lucidia launches Meridian Credit Union's new website, designed and built by Lucidia with a custom SharePoint content management system. In addition to the agency's role as Meridian's digital partner, it supports Meridian's overall integrated marketing communication needs through the first half of the year during a brand agency transition.
Jeff leaves Lucidia to start up a number of new entrepreneurial ventures, including the Digital Intelligence Group, a firm specializing in digital search and analytics. JR takes over to lead the Lucidia team as President. Lucidia designs, builds and launches Raffles Hotels' new website for FRHI Hotels and Resorts.
Marty Wright joins Lucidia as Vice President IT and Application Development after leading OLG's application development team for the IT Lottery Group. Lucidia purchases a significant minority shareholder interest in the Digital Intelligence Group. Marty becomes JR's business partner in Lucidia.
Salt & Pepper, a Toronto-based boutique digital / social agency continues its growth supporting brands such as MarcAngelo Foods. Outgrowing its space above the Drake Store, the agency moves to 460 Richmond Street West.
After numerous months as a key strategic and marketing partner for DUCA Financial Services Credit Union, Lucidia officially takes over as DUCA's Agency of Record and launches the first fully online account opening application offered by any credit union in Canada.
